So I recently hit 400 followers, which is about 399 more than I ever expected to have, and I’ve decided to celebrate with a little give-away!
The winner will receive two scalemate designs by yours truly, like the ones seen above. (It is not a physical object. It is a kawaii little graphic. I repeat: not a physical object.)
Depending on how popular it is, I might also roll for second and third place winners who will receive one design each.
You can request a design based off of anything you want - fantrolls, original characters, your dog, Pokémon, characters from other franchises, literally anything you can think of or desire (though I recommend against requesting canon MSPA characters, as those will probably be done anyway (or already have been — check this tag to see scalemates I’ve done before!)). Choice and Censorship
Whenever possible - which is to say whenever it doesn’t impede on obvious rights such as safety (real safety, you idiot) - choice should prevail in politics.
With regard to censorship and the FCC - want to shelter your kids from the exact material I want my children to learn young is NOT what you say it is? In my world, you still get that option. Your rights aren’t impeded at all by artists (who can find a market) having access to broadcast. Especially not the way things work nowadays.
On the flip side, in your system, I’m required to live by your standards. I have to go out and FIND the art you call offensive and show it to my children - but then they don’t have a choice. My daughter can’t discover on her own that she might like more violent or visceral war documentaries - indeed, she can’t even fucking decide on her own that she hates them for being needlessly violent.
Yet another issue where my stance is choice and the opposition is control.

I hate how the word ‘judge’ is perverted these days

the last of course is the most famous example of someone using a word wrong just once making me hate everything else they ever did. well, okay, in tandem with their suicide. or murder by wife. whatever.
you are judging people constantly - you’re judging me right now. am i smart? ridiculously attractive? annoying? petty? did i just make fun of kurt cobain does that make me a bad person?
you judge your former friends who turn out to be monsters, you judge yourself, you judge political candidates.
if you don’t you are literally making arbitrary choices (or worse, refusing to make them, which means you should listen to more Rush apparently).
